PATTERN HISTORY:
The "Coronation" pattern was introduced in 1936 to commemorate the crowning of King Edward VIII in England. Although the coronation never took place as Edward abdicated the crown to marry his love, Wallace Simpson. an American socialite. The flatware was also marketed in Canada and Great Britain, where it is known by the name "Hampton Court."
